Our Mission:

Recognizing the unique and profound challenges facing military personnel, veterans, emergency responders and their families, Branches of Valor seeks to rekindle their hope by creating an environment of healing, linking them with practical resources, supportive connections and Biblical solutions...

After putting their lives at risk to protect our freedoms, active-duty troops, veterans and their families continue to struggle with the long-term effects of war.

Here's what they face:

  • The visible and invisible wounds of war, including long-term physical disabilities, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Operational Stress Reactions and – for spouses and children – Secondary Trauma.
  • Divorce in the military is at an all-time high.
  • Homelessness among veterans (including OIF & OEF vets) is at an all-time high.
  • Joblessness, crime, medical and mental health issues are rising rapidly, breaking records.
  • Suicides among active-duty and veterans are at an all-time high.

Some say, “The DOD and the VA will take care of these problems.” But these systems are already overwhelmed. With the draw-down of 40,000 US troops from Iraq in 2011, and at least 23,000 more from Afghanistan in 2012, along with the frustration that will result from the poor US economy and jobs market and the deepening difficulties facing our current veterans, the situation will only get worse.

The majority of troops, veterans and their families are not aware of the help and healing available through Jesus Christ, nor are they aware of the physical, psychological and spiritual resources available in their local communities.

Nor do many veterans who are struggling with combat trauma have the patience, energy, time or cognitive abilities to pursue available aid.

Available Assets :

  • Jesus Christ, the Creator and Healer.
  • Trained Christians who can function as bridges between the Healer and the troops and their families struggling with the effects of war.
  • Military supportive churches.
  • A wide variety of resources and organizations within a community – national, local, Christian, non-Christian, governmental, non-governmental.
